Frequently Asked Questions

How many days can we enrol?
We have a minimum requirement of 2 days or more.  We do not offer 1 day positions as we feel that children do not settle or feel a sense of belonging.
How do I go on your waitlist?

We invite families and children to visit our service so you can see what we have to offer and get a ‘feel’ if this is the right kindy for your child.  During your visit we will give you a waitlist form to complete.  When the waitlist form is completed and returned to Care-A-Lot your child is automatically on our waitlist.  There is no fee to be on our waitlist.

When do we find out if we have a position?

We will contact families who are on our waitlist in October.  At this time families will be offered a position at Care-A-Lot.  When the service receives confirmation from families the enrolment process begins.

Is there an enrolment fee?
We charge $100 enrolment fee and that covers a sheet set for your child, a Care-A-Lot hat and administration costs.
Once offered a position at Care-A-Lot how do we secure our spot?

Once offered a position at the service enrolment forms will be given to families to complete.  These need to be returned with your child’s birth certificate and immunisation record.  Two weeks fees are paid in advance as well as the enrolment fee.  Centre policies and procedures are given to you at this stage.

What do we bring to kindy?

At Care-A-Lot we do not provide meals.  You will need to bring your child’s morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea as well as a drink bottle for water.

We do provide nappies, sunscreen, tissues and face wipes.

How do we help our children settle at kindy?

We encourage transition days prior to your child starting at Care-A-Lot.  Families are able to bring in their child for a short play to get familiar with the environment as well as the educators. Families will need to stay with their child during this visit due to ratio regulations.

Does my child have to be toilet trained?
We assist families with toilet training their child when they are ready.  Consistency between home and kindy is the key to success of toilet training.
Do we apply sunscreen to our children?
We are a Sun Smart service and follow sun safety rules at all times.  We apply sunscreen to the children twice in the day.
Do you close for school holidays?

Care-A-Lot closes for 4 weeks over Christmas, New Year and part of January.  Families are given confirmation of dates well in advance.
